Women at McDonald

Women have a special place at McDonald International Shul. Their involvement in the community is invaluable. Women participate in every activity within halachic parameters.

There are many learning opportunities in our community open to men and women (in English, Hebrew and French). All are led by experts in their field and draw regular attendances. In addition, there are two series of Matan shiurim specifically for women – one in English and one in Hebrew.

The Irgun Nashim

Many women volunteer as part of a rota for weekly Kiddushim preparation. Our kiddushim and the preparation are an important part of the social fabric of our community, enabling members to integrate and share smachot with the community. The Irgun Nashim also arranges for chagim and special event celebrations including Simchat Torah, Chanukah, Purim and Yom Ha’Atzmaut and Friday evening communal meals.

Women members have equal voting rights and are actively involved in the Executive and Management Committees.

Women are actively involved in all activities that take place in our Community including:

The Bikur Cholim Committee — offering hope, comfort and physical assistance to those in need.

The Welcoming Committee — men and women of our community identify, greet and meet visitors and new Olim and help them to integrate and feel at home.

The Chesed Committee —provides meals to those sitting shiva within the community.
